Meredith Kaye has had an active career in Greek Life. She was inspired to make Greek Life a priority in her life since her membership began in 1992. For over ten years, she has devoted her time and energy to improving the Greek experience for students. She was the Director of Greek Affairs for Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ from 1999-2002 where she supervised 17 national fraternities and sororities and before that, worked as the Coordinator of Greek Affairs at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville, WI from 1997-1999. Meredith was an undergraduate at SUNY Oneonta where she joined the Delta Chapter. She then graduated from the Student Affairs in Higher Education Masters program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in May of 1997 where she was a Resident Director at IUP and Greek Life intern. Today she is back on Long Island, working as a Middle School Guidance Counselor and pursuing a Doctoral degree in Educational Administration. Meredith began the "United Arethusa Movement" as a result of information obtained while working with the national Greek community and attending national seminars. She discovered that local sororities and fraternities were in danger of being phased out by some universities and colleges and resurging at others. She also discovered through Mary Peterson, Alpha Phi National Sorority, that Arethusa could unite as a national sorority and still retain her identity. |
